Myrtle Beach was one of the most searched U.S. travel destinations on Yahoo this year, wedged in the No. 2 spot between top searched Las Vegas and New Orleans.
It’s the same spot Myrtle Beach had in Yahoo’s year-end list last year. For Myrtle Beach to beat out destinations such as New Orleans and San Francisco, Calif., “it is really huge,” said Laura Begley Bloom, Yahoo Travel’s executive editor. “It shows the popularity of Myrtle Beach as a destination.”
Bloom said Myrtle Beach ranks so high because of its affordability, family appeal and variety of offerings that include the beach, amusements, golf, outlet mall shopping and nightlife.
